Thomas D. Smith, 66 of Birnamwood, died on Saturday, May 05, 2018 at his home under the care of his family and Ministry Hospice.
He was born on November 1, 1951 in Wausau, the son of the late George and Dolores “Sis” (Larson) Smith.
On November 27, 1971, Tom was united in marriage to Diane Norris at Zion Lutheran Church, Eland. She survives.
Tom served in the National Guard for six years. He had been employed at Taylor Enterprises for 43 years. Tom enjoyed the time spent with family and friends and enjoyed telling stories and was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan. He loved fishing, especially fly fishing and Tom tied all of his own flies.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Smith of Birnamwood; two children, Amy (Brian) Cornelius and Salena Smith all of Birnamwood; grandchildren, Deanna (Lucas), Michael (Andi), Miranda, Thomas, Ava and Aidan; great-grandchild, Lucas Jr.; sister, Julie (Bob) Ecker, Birnamwood; mother and father-in-law Alice and Arnold Werner of Pembine; sister-in-law, Beth Perry of Amberg, WI and several nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert; a nephew, Corey Boesen and brother-in-law, Terry Perry.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
