Elaine Mae Polley, 80, of Wausau, passed away on Saturday,
October 13, 2018, at North Central Healthcare – Lakeview Heights, under the
care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born on November 5, 1937, in Ringle, to the late Harry
and Bertha (Barden) Kole.Elaine grew up
and spent almost all of her life in Ringle and the town of Hewitt.She graduated from D.C. Everest High School
in 1956 and later married John Polley on August 15, 1959.
Elaine was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, town
of Easton, where she was the nutritionist for the church daycare. Part of her responsibility was to cook meals for
the children while they were being cared for.She was also the church custodian for a time as well.Elaine enjoyed polkas and would listen every
Sunday morning.She had fun in life and
always had a great time with her friends.Elaine was a homemaker and took care of her family.She was known in the neighborhood for her
bakery.Friends and neighbors always
looked forward to her cream puffs as repayment for favors or just because she
wanted to share.
Survivors include her son, Kim (Michelle) Polley;
grandchildren, Christina Clark, Tiffany (Mark) Steen, and Danielle (Chris)
Stout; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Mackenzie, and C.J.; and aunt, Helen
Barden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Harry
and Bertha; and sister, Phyllis (John) Novak.
A funeral service will be at 12 noon on Monday, October 22,
2018, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Easton, with Rev. Ryan
Fehrmann officiating.Visitation will
begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.Burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran
Cemetery.
