John Francis Mosey, Sr., affectionately known as Punch,
passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 14, 2018, in Stevens Point.
Born August 19, 1921, to Helen (Kolvakowski) and Steve
Mosey, John was the youngest of six siblings: Emil, Clifford, Andy, Arlene
(Marjama) and Janet (Caldwell). In 1941, he followed his brother and father to
work at the Soo Line, and worked the last passenger train from Chicago to
Stevens Point. Punch continued to work on Soo Line freight trains until
retiring in 1982. During those years, Punch also opened a bar on Stevens
Point’s north side and worked as an appliance repairman for Sears.
In 1947, Punch married Catherine Love and raised seven
children: Kathleen, John Jr., James, Thomas, Patrick, Ann and Andrew.
During his 97 years, Punch also loved fishing, hunting,
camping, golf, poker and was a member of the Model A Club.
A memorial service
will be held Saturday, November 24

, 11:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus
Church of the Holy Spirit Parish, 838 Fremont St., Stevens Point. The
