Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas suffered a left hamstring strain during the team’s Thursday night 116-110 loss to the Chicago Bulls and likely is done for the season.
“Given the number of days remaining in the schedule and the time needed to appropriately recover, it is expected that Thomas will miss the remainder of the season,” the Nets said in a statement.
He was the No. 27 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft.
Injuries have limited Thomas, 23, to only 25 games this season. He is averaging 24 points, 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds — all career highs — this season.
In 66 games (51 starts) last season, he averaged 22.5 points per game.
The Nets are tied for 12th place in the Eastern Conference with a 22-44 record. They are six games behind the Chicago Bulls for the 10th seed and final play-in spot.
