MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A man who was arrested back in January as part of a significant drug bust is now facing up to 75 years in federal prison.
Jacob Gould was indicted for counts of possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute and being a felon in possession of a firearm by a grand jury in US District Court on Wednesday.
Investigators arrested Gould on January 6th after a short chase on Interstate 39. They discovered more than 100 grams of fentanyl in his possession at the time of the arrest. A subsequent search of his Weston home turned up more fentanyl along with cocaine, THC, and meth. He was also found to have a 9mm handgun and a loaded magazine.
The arrest took more than 1,000 doses of fentanyl off the streets in Marathon County. At the time the sheriff’s office called it a significant win for the county, noting that fentanyl has taken over as the dominant street drug in the area.
